1. Privacy at a glance

General information

The following notes provide an overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data that can be used to identify you personally.

This is a static website. It consists of pre-generated files that are delivered without a database and without server-side processing. That limits data processing considerably:

  • This website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser — neither cookies nor local storage nor session storage. There is therefore no cookie banner.
  • No third-party content is embedded. No maps, no videos, no social media elements. We also serve the typefaces from our own server, so no connection to Google Fonts is established.
  • There is no contact form. You can reach us by email, by phone, or through the linked appointment booking.

Data collection on this website

Simply opening a page automatically records technical access data in our host’s server log files (see section 2) and performs an anonymous audience measurement (see section 5). We receive all other data only because you actively provide it — in an email, for example.

2. Hosting

GitHub Pages

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (a Microsoft Corporation company).

When you visit this website, GitHub processes the technically necessary access data. This includes in particular:

  • your IP address
  • the date and time of access
  • the file requested
  • the previously visited page (referrer URL)
  • browser type and version, and the operating system used

This data is required in order to deliver the website at all, to ensure its stability and to prevent abuse. We ourselves have no access to these log files and cannot analyse them.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in providing our online offering securely and reliably.

3. General information and mandatory disclosures

Data protection

We take the protection of your personal data seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

Please note that data transmission over the internet — email communication, for example — can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

Storage period

Unless a more specific storage period is stated in this privacy policy, your personal data remains with us until the purpose for processing it no longer applies. If you make a legitimate request for deletion or withdraw your consent, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible grounds for storing it — such as retention periods under commercial or tax law. In the latter case, deletion takes place once those grounds cease to apply.

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. An informal message by email is sufficient. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out until the withdrawal remains unaffected.

Right to object to data collection in special cases and to direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)

Right to data portability

You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in performance of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done insofar as it is technically feasible.

Information, correction and deletion

Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing, and, where applicable, a right to correction or deletion of this data. Right to restriction of processing

You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. To do so, you can contact us at any time at the address given above. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:

  • If you dispute the accuracy of the personal data we hold about you, we generally need time to verify this. For the duration of the review, you have the right to request the restriction of processing.
  • If the processing of your personal data was or is unlawful, you may request the restriction of processing instead of deletion.
  • If we no longer need your personal data but you require it to exercise, defend or assert legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of processing instead of deletion.
  • If you have lodged an objection under Art. 21(1) GDPR, a balance must be struck between your interests and ours. As long as it has not been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of processing.

If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data — apart from being stored — may only be processed with your consent or to assert, exercise or defend legal claims, or to protect the rights of another natural or legal person, or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a member state.

SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser address line changing from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser bar.

Objection to advertising emails

We hereby object to the use of contact data published within the scope of the imprint obligation for sending advertising and information material not expressly requested. We expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising information, for example by spam email.

4. Data collection on this website

No cookies

This website sets no cookies and stores no data in your browser. No recognition across visits takes place. Consent to the setting of cookies is therefore not required, and none is requested.

Server log files

When the website is accessed, access data is processed in our host’s log files. Which data this is and on what legal basis it is processed is set out in section 2. This data is not merged with other data sources.

Enquiry by email or phone

If you contact us by email or phone, your enquiry including all resulting personal data — such as name, contact details and the content of the enquiry — will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass this data on without your consent.

This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in effectively handling enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) where this has been requested.

The data remains with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to storage, or the purpose for storing it no longer applies — for example once your request has been dealt with. Mandatory statutory provisions, in particular retention periods, remain unaffected.

5. Audience measurement

Plausible Analytics

This website uses the web analytics service Plausible Analytics. The provider is Plausible Insights OÜ, Västriku tn 2, 50403 Tartu, Estonia.

Plausible works without cookies and without recognising individuals. No cross-device profile is created, no identifier is stored in your browser, and no information about your visits to other websites is collected. All data is processed and stored on servers within the European Union.

Only aggregated information is collected, which does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about you personally:

  • the page visited
  • the previously visited page (referrer)
  • approximate information about device type, browser and operating system
  • the country from which the access originates

Your IP address is not stored. It is used only briefly to determine the country and to distinguish one visit from another; it is then discarded.

In addition, we record two events: clicks on links leading from this website to other websites — in particular to apptivegrid.de — and requests for pages that do not exist, together with the address requested. The former shows us which content leads to an enquiry; the latter helps us find broken references following the relaunch of this website.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in a data-minimising analysis of how our offering is used, in order to improve it. As no information is stored in or read from your device, no consent under section 25 TDDDG is required.

No third-party content is embedded on this website. You reach the following services via links — a connection to their servers is established only when you click the respective link. From that point on, the provider’s own privacy policy applies.

Appointment booking via Google Calendar

To arrange a conversation, we link to a Google Calendar appointment page. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

If you follow this link, Google processes your access data and — if you book an appointment — the details you enter there, such as name, email address and subject. These details are then transmitted to us as a calendar entry and serve solely to prepare and hold the conversation. A transfer to the USA cannot be ruled out.

The legal basis for processing the booking data on our side is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, as arranging an appointment serves to carry out pre-contractual measures. Opening the appointment page happens at your own initiative.
